Had enough? Old Melton's now a junk yard/flea market

The Valley Report facebook page has been buzzing with activity over the opening of yet another flea market/yard sale store in the space formerly occupied by Melton's Food Mart on Valley Station Road near the railroad tracks.

Commenters say they are "fed up" with this type of development.

Join our discussion and tell us how you feel about this latest store, and while you are there, check out the photos of this atrocity.

How long do you think it will last? How long can you live with this type of commerce?

  1. Well..Its all a matter of personal opinion.. Some people enjoy spending their afternoon shopping at a flea market.. You know what they say, "One mans trash is another mans treasure." Not to be a smart alec but whoever doesn't like it can look to the other side of the road and drive on past it.. Its really not that big of a deal.. I don't see a problem. Its supposed to be a free world..Everybody trying to govern..

    1. No dumbass, its not a matter of personal opinion. The place is a dump and I called 311 on the bastard. I hope all concerned people do. You however are not concerned with anything. You are a shameful disgrace to this community and like the writer below says, there are way too many of you morons out here.

  2. That attitude is exactly why this end of town is the way it is. You love this trash. There are several of us (people like the author of this blog) who don't like it and try to change it but people like you outnumber us significantly. Evidently, your shopping needs can be met at a swap meet or landfill and have no problem whatsoever with the junk whores who have taken over Valley Station. Even PRP makes fun of us.

It's sad and discouraging. You don't want any better for your neighborhood? I sure did. I've lived out here all of my life and I can truthfully say that today, I am tired of taking up for people like you. The perception is the reality. We get no respect from people who live elsewhere, and now it seems they are rightfully ignoring us. I am embarrassed and ashamed to tell people where I live now. I've never been that way before in my life. I can't have people over to my house because they have to pass that dump to get there and I don't want them to see I live in a bombed-out neighborhood where the idiots throw trash in all the yards and park in the grass. People don't have mufflers on their cars and ride motorcycles on the sidewalk. They don't work but they have all the toys and arms full of tattoos. No class and no respect for one another. I can't wait to move. That is, if I can find a sucker who would buy the place. I stayed here way too long hoping for a better result. I lost out.

You can have this shithole, and you junk lovers can all kiss my ass. Drive past that in your piece of shit car buddy. Just don't look the other way at my For Sale sign. I'll need a dummy like you so i can get outta here.

  3. To bad none of you have the guts to post your name. Guess you can add " gutless punks" to your list of Southwest residents. I don't like these rat traps either, but I don't call people who do dumbass. Learn some manners! T.S Keith.

    1. Indeed. I was thinking of removing these comments, but the conversation spurs such emotional feelings I feel like it is better that I leave them for now.

Ease up on the name calling though. Unless, of course, you are willing to use your real name.

    2. T.S Keith,

I'm not one of the commenters above, but I have to say in their defense, it's kinda hard to show someone manners when they agree with people who are s******* all over you and your neighborhood 24/7.

      Just say'n
