Otter Creek reopens under state management

From the desk of Bob Henderson (D-14):

Finally, the day we have anticipated for over 2 years is upon us.

The park has opened under the management of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife with even more outdoor adventure opportunities than ever before.

There are 12 miles of horseback trails and 12 miles of separate bike trails for enthusiasts to enjoy along with an archery range and rifle range. The creek will be stocked with rainbow trout 3 times a year and the campground will be open for business as soon as a contract can be awarded to a private vendor to operate the site.

There is a small fee for entry for ages 12 and over of $3 with annual passes available for $30.

There are separate fees for biking and horse trails and shooting range use of $7 with annual passes available for $70.

The park is open for general use Wednesday through Sunday from daylight to dark. Some facilities are under development.

Visit the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife website at www.fw.ky.gov for the latest information about the Otter Creek Outdoor Recreation Area
