Councilman Awesome to work for free as sign of shared sacrifice

Louisville Metro Councilman David Yates (D-25) has released a statement on his intent to participate in the mayor's voluntary furlough program. Yates plans to work for free for the week. Councilman Awesome?

"As families tighten their belts all across Southwest Louisville, I will take part in Mayor Fischer’s voluntary, week-long furlough program. The residents of District 25 should know that even though I will not be paid for it, I will still be working for them. Shared sacrifice of this kind helps ease budget concerns and helps us prevent massive layoffs and cuts in services."

UPDATE:Vicki Welch (D-13) and Rick Blackwell (D-12) have also released statements saying they and their staff will take part in the voluntary furlough. They will all continue to work without being paid.
